I definitely recommend the farm experience.
The farmer I worked for is an awesome person and I'm forever grateful for finding this job as I think if I ever faced any trouble he would always be here to help. I have also learned a lot of new things on the farm and discovered what I want to do with my life in the future

For me personally, the criteria was to find a farm that would just feel right and I'd know for sure that I am 100% safe out there. The location didn't really matter. I was looking for a position on a horse or cattle farm because I have some background experience, I knew it would be an advantage.
I was not afraid of hard work as I have always worked hard so I was very open-minded and excited to experience something new in Australia.
My Biggest challenge was settling down in the countryside after spending the first few weeks in a big city & leaving all the new friends and people behind. Also, there are a lot of bushfires raging around so at times I felt a bit worried about them as in my home country there is no such thing.
Dealing with these difficulties just took time. It took a month for me to get settled here and because my employer was so nice, he gave me four days off so I could travel to Brisbane to see my friends. I'm doing it again before finishing the work.
Upon reflection I would not do much differently, maybe try to be a bit more relaxed in the first weeks, give the farm life a chance earlier on knowing I’ll be back in big city life soon enough.
